First it was my Myspace blog, later on I got my own website, and now I'm here because I'm too lazy to do the website thing again.
In 2009 I felt obligated to take down jcalvarado.com because I was told not to curse in order to get sponsored. I quit the sponsored gig in April of 2010, and every few months since then I get the urge to start writing again. Usually, by the time I'm done with my introductory blog I realize that I'm a terrible writer and the only person who will enjoy reading my nonsense is my Mom. So I'll end up deleting whatever I wrote and convincing myself that I'll do it some other time.
With that in mind, I'll keep this intro brief. I will try my best to keep this blog entertaining and honest. I predict that I will mostly write about non-poker related subjects with the occasional rant about the poker world and my journey within it. Hopefully I'll learn the proper use of commas and semicolons along the way. If this happens to take off and get a few followers maybe I'll try to get my own website again in the future. For now though, I'll stick to El Blog del Degen (I stole the name from the awesome Mexican blog about ongoing drug war: El Blog Del Narco).
Also, I chose not to write about myself or fill you in on what's been going on in the past two years because I'm sure it will come up sooner or later in different posts. If you're reading my blog for the first time and would like to know a bit of my background, This is the best I could find, from my old Pokerlistings.com blog.
